Celebrating Children’s Day: A Glimpse into Pastor Umo Eno’s Vision for Akwa Ibom’s Future

As Akwa Ibom State joins the rest of the world in celebrating Children’s Day, it is pertinent to reflect on the strides made under the leadership of Governor Umo Eno, particularly in the spheres of education and youth entrepreneurship.

Since taking office, Pastor Umo Eno has charted a course that promises a brighter future for the state’s youngest citizens, underpinning his administration’s policies with a commitment to education and economic empowerment as enshrined in his ARISE Agenda. 

Governor Eno has placed a premium on education, recognizing it as the bedrock of sustainable development. Under his administration, the state has witnessed significant improvements in educational infrastructure and quality. New model schools have been built with a vision of building more across the state, and existing ones have been renovated, providing a conducive learning environment for students.

His administration is also ensuring that these schools are equipped with the latest pedagogical skills to impart knowledge effectively. This focus on education not only empowers children with knowledge but also instills in them the confidence to dream big and aspire for greatness.

Healthcare services for children have also seen remarkable advancements under Governor Eno's administration. The construction of new model hospitals and approval for recruitment of additional health workers will ensure that more children receive timely and adequate medical attention. These measures not only enhance the physical health of our young ones but also foster a healthier, more resilient future generation.

The Ibom Leadership and Entrepreneurial Development (LED) Empowerment Action Plan (EAP) project is a model for Governor Umo Eno’s commitment to fostering a culture of entrepreneurship among the youth.

This initiative has provided young Akwa Ibomites with the tools, training, and financial support needed to start and grow their own businesses. By doing so, the administration is not only creating jobs but also cultivating a generation of innovators and business leaders.

Through the Ibom LED-EAP project, numerous young entrepreneurs have received grants, business mentorship, and access to markets, enabling them to turn their ideas into viable enterprises.

These young business owners are now contributing to the local economy, creating employment opportunities, and serving as role models for other aspiring entrepreneurs.

As we celebrate Children’s Day, it is clear that Pastor Umo Eno’s leadership is laying a solid foundation for the future of Akwa Ibom’s children. Today, we honor not just the children of Akwa Ibom but also the leaders and visionaries like Governor Eno, who work tirelessly to ensure that every child's potential is realized.

The Golden Era's focus on education, health and youth empowerment is equipping the next generation with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive in an increasingly competitive world.
