Guardiola struggles as Man City fall into 'gloomy situation'
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is combative despite facing his team's worst winning streak since 2018.
City's 4-1 defeat to Sporting in Lisbon in the Champions League marked their third straight defeat.
Only once during Guardiola's tenure has City lost three games in a row.
Guardiola dismissed captain Bernardo Silva's post-match claim that the club is currently in a "dark period", but also acknowledged that words mean little after such a heavy defeat.
But he will not shy away from a challenge. "I knew from the beginning that it was going to be a tough season," he said.
"I like it. I love it. I want to face it and inspire my players.
"We won't give up, that's for sure."
